Steve was born into the Marine Industry with his grandfather and father owning a dealership in the Fraser Valley. Steve has worked at almost every position within his family's dealership from starting off as a Lot person, Technician assistant, Partsman and finally found his true calling in Sales. Upon moving to the Okanagan in 2006, Dockside was very pleased to have Steve join our team. When Steve is not helping our customers at Dockside or on the water he enjoys working out at the gym , traveling and keeping in touch with his son and daughter who are both attending university at the coast. Steve brings many years of marine experience and knowledge to assist Dockside customers in finding the perfect boat for their budget and needs.
Dale Thompson - Sales Executive

Dale Thompson

Sales Executive
Dale was born and raised in Regina SK where he spent his summers at the beach. His grandfather was one of the first marine mechanics in the area and he spent many hours helping his Dad recover and repair salvage boats. At the age of nine Dale already owned several boats which Dad was teaching him to repair and resell. Dale started with Mercury & Marine in Regina in 1979. In 1988 he opened Thompson Marine as a multiple line dealership that sold new and used boats with full service facilities specializing in all aspects of gelcoat, metal flake and prop repairs. It later became Performance Marine which is still a well respected marine business in SK. In 2000 he sold his business and moved his family to Kelowna where he then joined the sales staff here at Dockside. With Dale's past experiences he brings his expertise in these many areas to share with our customers. When Dale is not assisting Dockside customers he enjoys fussing over his own boat, restoring International Scouts and touring the Okanagan on his Harley.
Trevor Bush - Sales Executive

Dockside Marine Centre is pleased to welcome Trevor Bush to the team. Trevor comes to Dockside with years of sales experience in the recreational industry and has a vast understanding of the boating culture. Trevor grew up in Castlegar with a family cabin at Christina Lake. His passion is being on the water with family and friends. Trevor’s greatest attribute is client service, and his willingness to go the extra mile. Dockside Marine Centre is confident your boat purchase experience with Trevor will be positive, enjoyable and professional.
Chris Vipond - Finance Manager

Chris Vipond

Finance Manager
Chris was born and raised in the Toronto area. He spent summers as a child at the many lakes in Ontario fishing, power boating and water skiing. He also was introduced to sailing and spent twenty years enjoying the sport, starting with a wooden Dragon class and then progressing to fiberglas sailboats. In 1991 Chris joined Dockside Marine after moving his family to Kelowna where he once again enjoyed not only having the opportunity to work in the boating industry but became an avid power boater himself. Chris is a member of the Kelowna Yacht club and still takes great pleasure in those magical moments he spends boating on Okanagan lake with his family. Chris would be happy to share his wealth of marine knowledge to assist you in choosing your 'perfect' boat.

Dan started boating at the young age of 10 years old and had a little boat with a 20 hp merc that he learned to ski behind. Soon there after he upgraded his boat to a new 17.6' springbok and was hooking salmon on the fraser river. While living on the coast he fell in love with sailing and cruising around the gulf islands. Dan has worked in the industry since 2009 and loves working with all types of boats. Dan is looking forward to helping fellow boaters.
Henrik Wehrmann - Parts Consultant & Marketing Manager

Henrik has enjoyed his time out on the water since a little kid. He has worked in the boat and motorcycle industry most his life. He is a motorcycle mechanic and a network security specialist by trade. Henrik enjoys working with boats as it is his passion. He also runs a informative website called Okanagan Boating. Stop by and say hi to him at our parts counter, he is very knowledgeable and is more than happy to help you find the right part for your boat.

Jim Loader - Service Writer

As a former business owner and consultant; providing exceptional customer service was a major part of Jim's job. He also has previous work history in the RV Industry as a "Class A" Motorcoach mechanic and parts person. This is what Jim brings to Dockside along with a lifetime of boating; from canoeing to power boating. His goal at Dockside is to provide the best service possible and to make each customers visit an enjoyable experience.
Tim Bridge - Shop Foreman

Tim Bridge

Shop Foreman
Tim has been in the marine industry since 1983. He got started in the marine trade in the lower mainland and moved up to the Okanagan in 1993 with his wife. Tim has worked for Dockside Marine Centre since 1999 and is trained in Mercury, Mercruiser, Volvo, Johnson, Yamaha, and Suzuki.
Mike Brunsdon - Mechanic

Mike Brunsdon

Mike has worked in the marine industry since 1987 and has been with Dockside Marine Centre since 1989. Mike is a certified Mercury technician. On his days off Mike enjoys fishing out on the little lakes.
Phil Ball - Mechanic

Phil Ball

Phil started out as a ticketed automotive mechanic where he worked in the industry for 14 years. He then moved on to become a ticketed marine mechanic in 2006. Phil has always enjoyed boating and is a big fisherman.
Greg Carey - Mechanic

Greg Carey

Greg has been a ticketed marine mechanic since 2009. He is always up for a challenge and enjoys learning new things. Greg likes the outdoors where he hikes and fishes regularly.
Taylor Doll - Mechanic

Taylor Doll

Taylor is a certified technician by trade. He enjoys working on boats and specializes in Pavati surf boats. Taylor also took part in the 2015 world jet boating championship representing Canada. Taylor has been with Dockside Marine since 2015 after being recruited from Alberta. He owns a 20' 450hp jet boat and a signature SeaRay bowrider which he enjoys on those hot Okanagan days.
Dan Huljak - Driver

Dan Huljak

Dan is our profesional boat hauler with a class 3 license. Dan has been with Dockside Marine since 2004. As an experienced class 3 driver Dan has hauled boats as large as 45 feet and as far as Canada wide and United States. Dan enjoys hunting, fishing and hockey on his time off.

My name is Mason Rice and I am from Windsor, Ontario. Growing up my family always loved to take us out tubing and wakeboarding, at a very early age I fell in love with the sport and just being out on the water. Currently, I am studying Accounting at the Okanagan College and am using the knowledge learned there to help further a career for myself and be an asset to the full team here at Dockside Marine. This passion for the water and technical skills that I have obtained through school, make working at Dockside a perfect fit for myself. My hope is that our customers will enjoy summer here in Kelowna just as much as I enjoy it every season since I have been here.

Durell Wiley - General Manager

Durell Wiley

General Manager
Durell is a life long boater who has owned more boats than he cares to admit. This includes a welded aluminum boat while living on Piers Island, a boat access only island in the Gulf Islands for 16 years, commuting daily by boat from his own dock. He has also owned numerous twin engine boats, “sometimes at the same time” he lamented. He is a CPA, CA who spent 25 years in public accounting, and later owned a BMW motorcycle dealership in Victoria, BC with his wife, Delia. Durell and Delia took a few years off to travel after the sale of the BMW dealership, and then moved to Kelowna to be closer to family. Durell reached out to Dockside Marine and started on the Service Desk! He then became the Company’s Chief Financial Officer in June 2016, and was recently made General Manager of the Company.
Toni Russell - Accounting & Warranty Administrator

Toni Russell

Accounting & Warranty Administrator
Toni has been with Dockside Marine Centre since 2001. Toni has trained extensively in manufacturer’s warranty, She is also assisting in the accounting department and has training as the service tower, service writer, reception and inventory.
Terri Lachelt - Reception

Terri Lachelt

Terri comes from a background in the customer service industry where she worked for many years and joined the Dockside team as a boat detailer. She now has a position at the reception desk where she greets customers, sells boat storage and follows up with service customers.
